How many days until...

summer break is over?
On my countdown ticker it says 22 days, 20 hours and 50 minutes.
In reality, because of weekends being spent with us anyway, there are about 16 days left of summer break. (That includes today in the count) Just over 2 weeks! :)
Nancy told me the other day that she is ready to go back because she "is bored" and would like to be back at school so she does not have to "go boring places" . She is referring to the bank, post office, grocery store and anything that is not "fun" She is still okay with Sea World, the beach, mini golfing, bowling, swimming every day etc. As long as we don't go with too many of my friends that is. Then it is not fun anymore and I need to stop accepting invitations and inviting people to go to the "fun places" with us. Sigh..she can be such a control freak. Wonder where she gets that from? :)
Danny doesn't want to go back to school. He is okay with anything we do as long as it is not school related. BTS shopping is not "fun" for Danny at all. Nancy loves it. Go figure.
Anyway, that is my thought for the day. Have a great day!

My life is a vacation....according to my Dad

Which is just so funny!
I tried to NOT be offended by his statement of "fact" mainly because it came from a man who spent little time at home with his kids as they were growing up. He never really saw the day to day challenges that my Mom faced when she was raising us. And many of which I face now.
Thankfully, Dan is VERY aware of the challenges and got a chuckle out of my Dad's statement as well.
1. The fights, 2. the transportation issues of shuttling kids to various activities in different locations, 3. the attempting to make as many of said children as happy as possible without leaving anyone out of things.
Did I mention the fights? Oh yes I did...I see it as number one on the list of "vacation" activities.
Bottom line?
If my life is a vacation, then clearly I need to get my money back on the all inclusive package.

What to talk about?

Hmmm... good question.
What is on my mind today?
1. World Peace?
2. Plans for the week to keep my kids entertained?
3. Grocery shopping or laundry?
4. The latest Robert Patterson book I read last night until 1 AM and the 5 more to go on my Nook?
Number 4 is the winner!
I am currently on a Patterson reading spree. Most specifically the Alex Cross series or thrillers and mystery. I have read so many titles from Patterson in the last few weeks that I think I am starting to get burned out, but still have a few more to go.
What are you all reading and what is your favorite genre?
As for 1,2 and 3. I am sure I will get to those shortly. :)

Why?

Why am I attempting to blog?
I guess because it seems that when I have something to say, Dan and my friends are all asleep. Which is wise. :)
Also, because when I am talking to friends and my kids are with me, I always have just "one more thing" to say or hear and they are impatient to be on their way.
So, how to start off?
What do I want to talk about?
First things first:
I need friends to read and share their thoughts with me if this is going to be a good blog. So, join in you want to, or just sign up and read. It is all up to you. :)
