Which is just so funny!
I tried to NOT be offended by his statement of "fact" mainly because it came from a man who spent little time at home with his kids as they were growing up. He never really saw the day to day challenges that my Mom faced when she was raising us. And many of which I face now.
Thankfully, Dan is VERY aware of the challenges and got a chuckle out of my Dad's statement as well.
1. The fights, 2. the transportation issues of shuttling kids to various activities in different locations, 3. the attempting to make as many of said children as happy as possible without leaving anyone out of things.
Did I mention the fights? Oh yes I did...I see it as number one on the list of "vacation" activities.
Bottom line?
If my life is a vacation, then clearly I need to get my money back on the all inclusive package.
Ha! Your parents always say these types of things. When their little pearls of wisdom are directed at me, I'm only allowed to sit quietly and eat my green jello. KT
ReplyDeleteTracey - you are the MOM! I love your writing, it's just like we are chatting at the Chick-fil-A except one of us gets to finish our thought! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd - I want some of that green jello - if it would allow me to sit quietly, it's got to have some good stuff in it! Amanda!
